inquire nowThe biodiversity Study Park (Diyasaru Uyana) in Thalawathugoda- This artificial wetland, on the outskirts of Colombo, is bordered by motorable roads, which makes access easy for wildlife and nature enthusiasts. Biodiversity Study Park in consists of open study area, study center, board walks for walking through the wetland, butterfly garden, and bird hide, bird watching tower, ground water wells, a laboratory, a herbarium, children’s pond, wetland agriculture area, rush and reed pond, audio video room and boat riding facilities. The complex of artificial ponds, small canals and paddy fields make it a rich varied wetland site. Diyasaru Uyana is home to Over 50 varieties of migratory birds, over 25 butterfly species and 15 fish varieties including 3 endemic to Sri Lanka and amphibians, reptiles. Also, it provides habitat for different marshy plants, terrestrial and aquatic plant species. This is also good for photographing butterflies and dragonflies.
Overnight Aatham House Colombo- ColomboAfter breakfast we make our way to the Seethawaka Botanical Garden. The Garden built on 79 acres in the wetzone is composed of an artificial pond and natural water stream where you could see threatened and vulnerable endemic plant species. The Gardens main purpose is amied at improving conservation and promoting stuides of endemic species of plants.Being a wet lowland, the park serves home to different endemic plants, flowers, dragonflies, amphibians and species of reptiles.

In myth the garden was one of the pleasure gardens of king Ravana of the well-known epic Ramayanaya. This garden was expanded during the British period and has a wide variety of flowers, including an excellent collection of orchids. The park is also home to many endemics & migrant birds.

This is a view point located on the top of the Poonagala hill near the Dambetenna tea factory, where pioneer tea planter Thomas Lipton used to sit and contemplate his plantation. Once you reach the top you can kick back relax and enjoy the view of lush green rolling hills and mountains. To quench your thirst a warm cup of the finest Ceylon tea will be presented to you.
